Teaching

As an educator, I work to create authentic learning experiences and liberating classroom environments that put student agency at the center.

I’ve taught courses in writing, literature, education, and screen cultures at a variety of universities. Currently, I serve as a Lecturer in the Department of Writing and Rhetoric at the University of Mississippi.

Collaborative Grading

I define collaborative grading as a system in which students and instructors determine grades for a given course in consultation with one another. Generative AI

My practices concerning generative AI in the writing classroom have evolved significantly since ChatGPT first arrived in 2023. Currently, I use an approach that asks students to choose an “AI Free” or “AI Friendly” pathway through the course. I write about AI frequently on my blog. Here are a few of my latest posts:
